Things I am loving...

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something you can be thankful for..no matter how simple it is.

HANDBAG ORGANISER
My  Mum got us a nappy bag but I find it to be way too big and because of the size it is hard to organise things well.
I looked into buying a new nappy bag but good ones are so expensive until I found the best alternative out.  A $5 bag organiser from Five Little Monkeys.
There are a heap of compartments which makes it so easy to find stuff.  The organiser will fit well into a number of bags I own too which is a help.
Woohoo, what a cheap fix!!

Looks messy but I assure you it is very organised haha

BICKIES
A friend posted a link on Facebook to some biscuits she had made.  She was saying how delicious they were and how quick they were to make.  Well I can also testify to that.  Tasty, quick and very moreish.  I added some white chocolate drops to add to the calories too  http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/6681/quick-cookies

THE BUBBA
I am loving the changes in Eva.  Every few days there is something new that she is doing.  She is growing up so fast.  She is 9 weeks this week and I think my love for her grows everyday.
Eva really disliked her rocker/bouncer but now loves playing with the toys.

Staring into the mirror.  She does not look too happy but she is loving it.  She loves the musical bug in the middle

Kicking and moving her arms all over the show.  She loves getting her groove on, usually cooing and giggling the whole time.

NEW TUI PICTURE
I purchased this print off one of the many one day deal websites and put it in a frame from The Warehouse.  All up it cost around $30 and I really do love it.  Cant wait for it to be up on the wall later today.  The print and many other great prints and blocks can be purchased from http://www.dudo.co.nz/

PINTEREST
Love, love, love, love, love this time wasting website.  This is a renewed love!!!   I have lots of great boards, you can check them out using the button to the right of this page.

Have a great week everyone!

Creative me...

Eva has been sleeping a bit more lately and I have had a chance to be a bit creative.

I made a cover for Eva's Plunket book...

And a santa sack for Eva.

I am a little bit premature with the santa sack but my christmas fabric has been winking at me every time I open my craft cupboard.  I am going to make a few santa sacks for christmas presents, they are so cute!!

Things I am loving...

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something you can be thankful for..no matter how simple it is.

I am loving my pinking shears.  I got them off trade me a week ago and am planning on using them to make buntings.  I am sure they will get plenty of use when doing other things though!!

I am loving my new hair product.  I have always found it hard to find hair smoothing stuff that actually tames all of the fly aways.  Elvive Smooth-Intense Anti-Frizz Serum is great and a reasonable price at the supermarket!

I am loving watching Eva having time on her play mat.  She smiles, 'giggles' and 'talks' the whole time. It is very cute!!

This is the only photo I had, she does not look too happy in this one
I am loving my blueberry plants and sweet pea plants.  The blueberry plants have lots of fruit coming along on them and my sweet pea plants are looking so healthy I  am going to get a heap of lovely blueberries and sweet smelling flowers come the end of spring, start of summer.

I am loving the self-rocking cradle we ordered from America for Eva's hammock.  Eva sleeps in this Natures Sway Hammock.  I would love to have one of my own, it looks so comfy.  Unfortunately Eva only falls asleep in her hammock more often then not if we are rocking it.  This fancy thing does it for us.  It has a number of different speed settings, a timer for how long you want it to rock for and the best thing is is senses movement so when Eva wakes up the cradle feels her movements and starts rocking again.  YAY!!!  She slept for two hours this morning, virtually unheard of during the day.

I am loving these photo's of Eva.  Cannot have a post and not have at least one photo of my wee girl...

Things I am loving...

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something you can be thankful for..no matter how simple it is.

Keep Calm and Carry On
No, not the saying, the TV programme.  Jaquie Brown (a New Zealand comedian) shares her journey into Motherhood in a half hour TV programme which air's one night a week.  She does not give advice but shares her experiences.  I laugh during every episode at how similar her thoughts and feelings are to ones I have had and do have.  My husband even enjoys it, which is great because he learns one or two things about what we as women go through before, during and after having our wee ones.

Online supermarket shopping
I started doing our weekly supermarket shop online when I was 40 weeks pregnant.  Shopping just became too much effort and since having Eva it is just so much easier to order it online then taking a baby to the supermarket and having her potentially cry all the way around.  I am finding I am spending less money (which is always awesome), however, it is easy to forget things (this week toilet paper) and Countdown don't have the yummy apples we like!!

New application on my computer
I have just downloaded a new application onto my computer.  It is called TurboCollage.  You can see an example of how it works in my previous post and below for the newborn photos I have added.  It did not cost much and the great thing is that the photos can be put into iPhoto and then printed out for all to see.

My little girls smiles and her 'chatting'
Who can be annoyed at getting up in the early hours of the morning to feed their lovely wee girl when she gives the biggest smiles.  Also, who can be annoyed at changing a pooplosion nappy in the early hours of the morning when their lovely wee girl is 'chatting' away like it is the middle of the day!!!  This girl is going to be a talker I think.

Newborn Photo shoot photos
A few weeks ago we had a newborn photoshoot.  We wanted to capture this special time in our lives and get some professional photos of Eva before she is all grown up and hating us because we would not let her go to a party with her too old for her boyfriend.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE every single photo that was taken!!  They are just stunning and it is hard picking my favorite's.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Beautiful Spring Day

Eva and I went for a walk in the beautiful Cornwall Park yesterday afternoon.

What a perfect spring day it was...  The last of the daffodils were flowering, the lambs were playing, trees had new lush, green growth, the blue bells were out and the cherry trees were stunning.

Unfortunately I missed the daffodils in all their glory but I have been told how stunning the wisteria will look soon and I am determined not to miss that.

Things I am loving...

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something that you can be thankful for... no matter how simple it is.

I am loving life at the moment but here are a few little things in particular that tickle my fancy...

I am loving this super cute dress I got Eva.  So much for just going to the supermarket to get a few things.

I am loving the sneak peak of photos from our newborn photo shoot.  I am sure I will post more when we get them from the photographer.

I love the smile on my wee girl in this photo!!  My fave!
Mummys girl!

I am loving my little girls shoe collection (this does not include the thousands of pairs of booties she has).  They are just so cute.  I have no idea what it is about them but they are just adorable.

I am loving the amazing invention that is chocolate cake in a mug!!!!!  I had never even heard of this until a few weeks back and I have made them two nights in a  row now.  Tonights was by far the best.  I have added the recipe onto the recipes tab at the top of the page.    Chocolatey goodness in a minute, what more could you ask for??!!

I am loving catch ups with my antenatal group.  All the girls are super lovely and I think we are going to become great friends.   And also our kids are so cute!

Eva getting a cuddle from Harper

My very patient wee girl.  This photo makes me laugh so much!

I lastly I am loving selling things on Trade Me!  Todays sale was our leather lounge suite, a set of bookshelves, a drill and an electric screw driver.  We have sold a fair bit on Trade Me lately and it is nice to have clutter gone from the house and garage.  I am going to have a big tidy up over the next few days and I cannot wait to get my nice tidy and orderly house back (as much as I can with a baby anyway).

Have a great week everyone!!

Oh my, how things have changed

I was thinking yesterday how much things have changed since I became a Mum.  Sounds silly to suddenly think this but there are things that I do now that I would never have thought of before I had Eva.  I just have to look around my house and there is evidence of changes everywhere but there is also the subtle or almost invisible changes too.

Number One

All photos that are uploaded to Facebook are of Eva or are Eva related.  Yes...  I have become one of those parents.   A few years ago I was telling my Mum about a friend who had multiple photo albums (and by multiple I mean almost one album for every month)  on her Facebook profile all with hundreds of photos of her son.  I don't have that many but to be honest I can see how it can be done.   My Mum reminded me of this a week or so ago but I have to say that does not stop her from liking or commenting on each photo.

Number Two

All posts on here are related to Eva in one way or another...

Had to add something to this post so it did not look too boring...
Number Three

I am happy to sit next to Eva's baby hammock for up to 45 minutes (if not longer some days) making it move up and down just to get my girl to sleep so she;  a)  does not get over tired and cause problems at night for her Mum and Dad, or b) (in todays instance) is comforted by the rocking after having her 6 week jabs.

Number Four

Instead of reading gossip magazines I now read parent/baby magazines, blogs, websites, books.

Number Five

Instead of catching up with friends and having a moan about work, husbands/partners/dating, not getting to the gym, shopping, how much weight we feel like we have put on, annoying work mates, gossip etc I am now meeting up with other mothers and talking babies.

Bath time...
Number Six

My biggest achievements (and that is if I reach them) each day are;  a) having a shower and not getting out to a crying baby,  b) Managing to make breakfast and eat it before Eva wakes up (this one is very rarely met),  c) Eva having all of her day sleeps,  d) Andy and I eating dinner together and it not being cold or reheated and e) not going crazy!

Number Seven

There is baby paraphernalia on our coffee table.

Number Eight

I want to wear my baggy, pilled, unflattering track pants everyday.  But I don't because people would laugh at me and ridicule me if I went any further then the letterbox while wearing them.

My little snow leopard
Number Nine

It always dawns on me when I am halfway to my destination that I have yet again forgotten to check my shoulder for baby spew.  I would never have contemplated walking out of the house with dirty clothes let alone clothes with baby spew on them!!!!

And Number Ten (because I limited it to ten otherwise I could be here all day)

I have a wee someone in my life that means more to me then anything else in the whole wide world.  I don't know what I would do if anything happened to her and I just want to do right by her every single day.

Tutu much fun!!!

I made my wee girl a tutu.
Yes she is only 5 and a half weeks old but I thought it would be nice to have it as a prop for our newborn photo shoot which we had on Sunday.  It did not get used at the photo shoot because Eva was not playing ball but never fear Mummy Paparazzi took some photos last night.

It was surprisingly easy to make and cost next to nothing.  I made it so it will only go around half of her, I thought the material was really scratchy and did not want it to aggravate her.   I also doubled the strips of fabric to make it a bit thicker.  Next time I would use three strips of fabric and a slightly darker pink so it would stand out more in photos.

Don't know about this tutu

Tutu tastes good...

I am pretty cute ah?!

Butter wouldn't melt in this girls mouth, yeah right!

Instructions to make the tutu came from this site, http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/2011/03/easy-no-sew-tutu.html
