Things I am loving...

Another week has flown by but this week had one very special moment (actually a moment makes it sound like it was a short thing, I am led to believe it was not!)

I became an AUNTY!!!

My younger brothers partner of 8 or 9 years (I have lost track) gave birth to a wee baby girl on Friday evening.
Welcome to the world Amelia!!  Such a beautiful name for a beautiful wee girl.
She is the most precious wee princess out!!  I cannot wait to meet her and have cuddles.
I 'stole' this photo from my 'sister-in-laws' Facebook page,

My 'sister-in-law' is doing ok.  The birth was a rather traumatic one for her and she is very tired.  But she has this perfect wee girl to make up for that.   My brother has taken to being a Dad like duck to water, as I knew he would.
I am looking forward to heading down to Hamilton over the next few days to meet my new niece.  It is going to be lovely having Amelia and my wee bub so close in age, I am sure they will be besties.

And the other thing I am loving...

Baby Shower Number 2!!!

My goodness my wee baby is a spoilt wee thing!

My best friend organised a gathering of family and friends to celebrate the impending arrival of my baby and it was a lovely afternoon.  It was really nice to catch up with people I have not seen in a while and my goodness, what a haul of presents.

My wee bubba is not going to want for anything!!!

My best friend is also pregnant, she is around 4-5 weeks behind me.  We have been friends for over 20 years and it is really nice for us to have this experience (even though this is her second and my first) together.

Me (and bubba Sowden) on the left, Nicole (and girl-girl) to the right

Take care and have a great week everyone.

Baby baby baby...

I was on a roll and thought I would include another post.

So for those of you who might be reading my blog for the first time I am pregnant.  I am 32 weeks along this Tuesday.  I am still working full time and will be for 6 more weeks.  My husband and I are really excited about the birth of our first child.  It has been hard work at times, as women who have had children can testify to.

Here is me at 6 weeks pregnant...

Here is me two weeks ago, 30 weeks (really need to take an updated photo)...

Here is Baby Sowden at the 12 week scan...

Here is Baby Sowden at the 20 week scan...

And here is Baby Sowden at 29 weeks at the fancy 4d scan we had...

I have been lucky enough to have one baby shower already.  The lovely ladies I work with always put one on for women who are expecting.  This was a joint baby shower with a good friend who is due at the start of June.  And this is going to sound crazy but I have another one this week (for Auckland based friends and family) which my best friend is planning and then another one two weeks after in Hamilton (where I am from) which my Mum is planning.

Here is a photo of my gifts.  We were very, very spoilt!!

I made some thank you cards to give to people to thank them (obviously) for the amazing gifts we received.  I have made a heap of these to have on hand for before and after bubs is born.   They were so quick and easy to make

Who knew, cards that work out to be 50 cents each, scrappy bits of material and ribbon and a glue gun could make something that looks so cool??!!!

I thought I would also include some photos of some of the crafts I have made over the past few months.
I am all for saving money and have really enjoyed getting back into sewing over the last year or so.  I often trawl through Pinterest and find cool things I can make.  I have also got some great ideas from various groups on Facebook.

Here are some things I have made...

Oh and before I show the photos, the gender of our baby is going to be a suprise.  I have decided to make stuff in blue and pink and put away whatever we do not need this time and maybe use next time.

Girly bunting flags

boy bunting flags

Cot rail covers for a boy, am going to make a cot skirt to match and then make a girly one too.  I LOVE this stripy fabric.

Girly cot quilt

A cot quilt for a wee boy
Very long bright snake, was made to brighten up some long shelves I was going to buy, now I am not too sure.

Anyway, the plan is to get back into this blogging thing.  So you never know, I might just enter another one this time next week.
Take care people.

Things I am loving...

Things I am Loving...

(Well actually one one thing)

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something you can be thankful for..no matter how simple it is.

Since falling pregnant my husband has been super excited about the prospect of having a 4d scan to check out bubs.  He is a lover of technology and this was something that really appealed to him.

The 4d scan was pretty amazing, I fell in love as soon as I saw the pictures.  Not that I was not fond of my unborn baby but this scan really made me fall in love.

Here are some photos that were taken from the dvd we received.

Isn't our wee one just so super cute???!!!

Right, I am going to try and keep a bit more up to date with my blog and the Things I am Loving link.

Have a great week everyone...
