Is that bad to say???
I started my day in the best way possible today I think. I had an amazing deep tissue massage. Woah, loved it!! Hopefully it is going to speed up the healing of my back.
When it got to the afternoon I thought I better be productive. I feel like I have been a bit of a lazy bum. I sat in front of the tv all day yesterday!! I never do that.
I think entertaining last week and the lead up to my cousins wedding and a busy day being bridesmaid on Saturday took it out of me.
Anyway I am in the middle of making a big pot of pumpkin soup. My Grandad has a huge vege garden and for his birthday last year I brought him a selection of interesting seeds from Kings Seeds.
I had some family over for lunch the day after my cousins wedding and he gave me some of the 'we be little' pumpkins he grew from the seeds I gave him...
I am using three of these little pumpkins and one of the Zucchini Rampicante he grew from some of the seeds as well. These are the craziest looking vegetables I have ever seen!!!!! They are climbing zucchini which happen to be a type of squash. My Grandad had these hanging from trees and creeping all over his garden!!!!
Very strange looking vegetables and ones that intrigue everyone that sees them both in the garden and out. Anyway... The pot is simmering away with the veges, garlic and bacon hock. It smells pretty dam good if you ask me.
In addition to a soup making session I made lip balm. As soon as I saw the recipe on Wendyl Nissen's website I wanted to make it. I ordered all the ingredients, they arrived around midday today and I have made it. Sooooo easy!!
It cost around $45 for all of the ingredients and then $1 each for the pots but the tiny amount you use to make the lip balm makes it worth while. I am waiting for it to set before using it.
Time to go and check on my soup...
And then chop up the extra Zucchini Rampicante Grandad gave me for my compost bin...
